Reflections

It is never finished.

Mitchell Washington was one of Hollywood’s top up-and-coming directors until an unexpected heart attack nearly killed him.  Mitch makes a full recovery but, because of his weakened heart, is forced to leave directing behind in an attempt to lead a less stressful life.

Once Mitch and his family are settled into their new house, a quirky piece of retro Los Angeles architecture away from the Hollywood scene, he dives into his first screenplay, determined to prove his strength in this new field to his doubting colleges.  But mysterious noises, unexplained visions and the discovery of the architect’s original plans hidden behind the walls, distract Mitch from his writing as he sets out to discover the hidden history of his house.

Between the time spent obsessing over his house and getting wrapped up in his screenplay, Mitch leaves little time for his family, friends or the outside world.  Mitch's growing determination to make his work absolutely perfect leads back to his old self-destructive habits, the potential breakup of his marriage and the slow deterioration of the life he is attempting to salvage.  The pursuit of perfection may be his death.
